What, so I didn't come up with a name for your new cat, and you retaliate by failing to ask me what music is hot over here? Dear me.

What about Edgar 'Jones' Jones, The Duke Spirit, Four Tet, and Autokat for starters...and Gilles Peterson's In Africa record is great too.

By the way, I'm coming to NY -- July 9-16. Details in an email later...

From the handful of Dead 60's tracks I've heard, I'll check out their full album. It's nothing inventive or innovative, just some good old school funk-punk-rock.

I don't know how everyone feels about the new Oasis, but I think it's amazing. Definitly their best since 'What's the Story...' Looks like the boys from Manchester are back.

I can't stream any of these albums from my mac.

Or, at least not the VH1 ones.

Anyone have a different link that works for the non-pc crowd?

I've revisited "...Morning Glory" recently and this new record is a definite contender - but the hooks, the monster momentum, the then-pop climate, the coke. . ."...Morning Glory" is a feat that will never be equalled or topped by this band.

And that's not a bad thing, necessarily - they shouldn't have to equal or top it. They're not 2o years old anymore, and it's not a bunch of "lads" havin' it in a rock group anymore. They're now a band of musicians, with money and palimony payment and sore sinus cavities.

The most one should ask for of this new record: does it effectively erase the monolithic medicority of the previous 3 records (two studio, one live)? Because while Be Here Now is the definite begnning of the end, it was a compelling disaster flick: everything turned up to 11 and the dealer sitting between Noel and the engineer.

Too bad Liam didn't bother to fucking sing on that LP - he made the most egregiously bad lyrics and ripped-off-lyrics of "...Morning Glory" seem so urgent and true.

This upcoming US tour will tell us the truth if they're really interested in giving us good ROCK, or another collective two-finger salute. . .

maybe we can blame crazy frog for nick and jess's divorce and the new weezer album?
