PS. Anniemal is new? I picked it up at the Times Square Virgin Megastore back in February. (Import, obvs.)

Ah Vice, dictating to hipsters everywhere their special blend of what's cool, which includes $100 t-shirts and mountain dew ads apparently. $100 T-shirts are so punk rock. Dig That Annie CD though.

Man, Elkland might be the very worst lyricists ever. EVER! (but the music's not bad)

Uh, I'd like to say that Elkland are terrific lyricists. I mean, common, they do not have to rely on the same-o same-o gutter sex lyrics that are the only thing that make other bands famous. To write songs that speak of the purity of love such as Abandon, We Share A Heart, Night Cranes, and Apart shows great talent and explain why Elkland are making a 10 year 6 figure income. Elkland does not prostitute themselves. They also do not have to be gay to make it in a predominately gay style of music.

    Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...

    Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...
