After listening to Live It Out about thirty times in the last week or so, I have to say it's one great listen. It grows on you each time.

Veruca Salt announced today that they are putting out a new album. But it's really only Louise and two randoms.

The Truth- funny name! I love that you had first post- I'm sure you had plenty of time to sit and listen to this album before you posted... and yeah Metric is in their early thirties and sound NOTHING like Veruca Salt. The truth is you're an idiot.

Thanks for getting me to remember Veruca Salt though! I loved American Thighs. But I like the new Metric even more!

Metric were unbelievably awesome this past Saturday at the Filter party at Hiro Ballroom. Can't wait for the album to come out on October 4th. Will probably go see them both on the 5th at Bowery and the 6th at Southpaw. I have a Metric problem.

Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...

Premature Evaluation: of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping

Skeletal Lamping is anything but skeletal. When we took a close listen to album closer "Id Engager" we mentioned it wasn't the strangest, most ambitious, or best tune on of Montreal's new one, but after absorbing the other 14 tracks,...
