Stream The Where The Wild Things Are Soundtrack

thubmnail icon: Stream The Where The Wild Things Are Soundtrack

You've all seen (and cried about) the trailer. Now it's time to hear (and cry about?) Karen O & the Kids' Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack. Like the first single "All Is Love" suggested, the collection has a dreamy childlike feel to it. As we mentioned, though, Karen's Kids include Brian Chase and Nick Zinner, Bradford Cox, and two Raconteurs in addition to that cutesy children's choir, so not everything here -- a noisy guitar riff, a sad ballad, etc. -- is necessarily for (or by) the little ones.

Meet the band:

The Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack is out 9/29 via DGC/Interscope.

I certainly understand how this is perfect for the movie, but it's not something I'd want to listen to alone.

This simply sounds like nothing less than the perfect soundtrack to Where The Wild Things Are.

I'm glad Bradford Cox is on the soundtrack but I think that Karen O is a total hack and I wish that Spike Jones would stop using her for his projects.

She's already milked the Siouxie Sioux angle to death and now she's blatantly ripping off Danielson in All is Love.

As for the person who said that her Worried Shoes cover was one of the best Daniel Johnston covers, I have to disagree. The Daniel Smith/Sufjan Stevens cover of the same exact song is even better.

typical hipster critic. Karen O channeling Siouxie should be applauded since no one else had the balls to do it. But even a Surfjan Stevens-citing-hipster-balloonhead like you would have to admit that Karen O has taken what you derisively call the "Siouxie Sioux angle" to another level and is a compelling performer and musician. Otherwise you are just a hipster naysayer who should be summarily beaten in your short sleeve button down thrift store shirt.

I smell Oscar for Karen O... or maybe a Golden Globe at the most. I hope she gets an Oscar nom though just so she can wear something that'll be the new Bjork swan dress.

I can't wait to get all my little cousins to see this flick! Such a perfect soundtrack, and I think it does stand by itself pretty well! "Worried Shoes" is a favorite.

Yeah you'll find that Spike Jonze (not Jones) hasn't used Karen O in every project that he has worked on. Fool. Sort your facts out!

It's either Wake Up by the Arcade Fire, or All is Love.

I am so glad to read that there are people out there who are as excited for this movie as I am!
The song in the commercials is Arcade Fire's "Wake Up" .. it doesn't sound like they recorded a new version but instead took bits and pieces from the original and remixed it.. (that song is my favorite song!)

The previews give me shivers!
