SXSW: Picks For Thurdsay

Well we're off to a roaring start this morning, aren't we? Sorry for the late start today guys; it's all the Meat Puppets' fault! Actually, it was probably the Danes of Slaraffenland and that interminable line to see Les Savy Fav that did us in. So just bear with us, we're just getting ourselves sorted, but we have lots of goodies for ya.

Chances are, if you're in Austin, you're dealing with a massive, morning headache right now for reasons that shall remain between you and your liver. The last thing you need is anymore stress to melt your mind, so every day we'll take a few minutes to break down some of the day's more exciting attractions, and for later, a checklist of bands to see tonight, depending on your personality type.

As for your daylight hours, go enjoy free food and hipster elixir (aka PBR) during the Onion party at the Emo's complex while Andrew Bird, Tokyo Police Club, Matt & Kim, Amy Milan, Land Of Talk, Patton Oswalt, Aziz, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel endeavor to entertain. But if you're in need of some sneakers to facilitate your Austin walking, head to the Team Clermont/Under The Radar party at the Flamingo Cantina for free Saucony giveaways while you listen to The Pipettes; Super Furry Gruff Rhys; Architecture In Helsinki; and Loney, Dear. And once you get those shoes, break 'em in with a little walk to E. 4th St. for the AAM/Brooklyn Vegan party at Red's Scoot Inn, with sets from Stereogum faves The Twilight Sad, New Violators, Cloud Cult, Rob Crow, and Mew.
