Tapes 'N Tapes To Expand Audience Beyond Bloggers

So today's big news is that Counting Crows and Goo Goo Dolls are joining forces for a 45-city North American tour! I mean, Tapes 'n' Tapes are finally signed! ("Selling out is so early 90s," Pitchfork jokes.) XL will be the buzz band's new home, and we're sure labelmate Devendra Banhart will teach them a thing or two about how to be branded a pedophile.

We usually leave the rotating roster round-up to Coolfer, but since blogosphere faves T'n'T were the recipients of this site's first-ever )Gummy( award, we'd be negligent not to extend a sincere congrats. So Congrats boys.

If you weren't one of the lucky thousands to catch one of the band's 63 shows at SXSW, here's your chance:

Tapes n' Tapes aren't overrated, they're good, but they're nothing unique or special.

But TV On the Radio's new album, Return To Cookie Mountain, is amazing. I posted a few tracks the other day. "Wolf Like Me" is outstanding

Tapes 'n Tapes are okay, but I wouldn't drive 250 miles out of my way for a chance go see them in some shitty venue with mediocre drinks in a sea of American Apparel or anything like that.

i had heard about this XL signing from a press agent in London and she was saying how they got signed purely for buzz, duh, but more interestingly NOBODY liked their live show over there, and that they were considered to be just all around wack. i've not seen them live so I can't say, but I can say I find the tracks relatively ho hum, plus a bit of cowbell.

It's a good record. The songs are solid. Live, they're fine mostly because they get to play good songs.

They're hardly the most interesting thing coming out of Minnesota, these days, but there's no reason to not be happy for their success.

Overrated, underrated, whatever. I like the record and I want to see them live. Cold War Kids are opening, and I like them too. I'll pay the $8 to check it out, and I bet I'll even have fun. Yep.

I couldnt care less about this band. I'm not sure what all the hype was about. They're not even interesting looking. For my money I'd rather go see The All American Rejects. That Ty is so dreamy.
