Tattoo You

We just came across a post by What Would Jesus Blog? that's assembled an impressive collection of rocker tattoos for your perusal. It's a veritable internet parlor wall of skin art shots and may help YOU decide which tat to get next. Some suggestions:

For the Elliott Smith fan, a tastefully subtle and awesome XO...

For the Strokes fan with a high threshold for pain and a need to be different, "12:51" on the lip...

And for the Björk fan who wants to make sure even the blind know she's an über-fan, the lyrics to "Bachelorette" in brail...

Head over to WWJB for more skin art in testament to the likes of Tom Waits, Weezer, Green Day, Elvis Costello, NIN, RHCP, The Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Okkervil River, The Smiths, Sigur Rös, and on and on. But for all those tats, nothing will ever top that one dude somewhere in middle America.

If those brail dots are actually flat, that's, um... pointless.

My friend has the two hands from Devendra Banhart's "Rejoicing In the Hands" album art on her upper back. Don't have a picture of it though.

Mr. Gum,
Thanks for the shout out. When he's not looking, I'll put a check next to your name in My dad's big book.

I love you,
Jesus Christ

Some of those are actually really good, others not so much. Besides the ones that are the pictures of actual people, which I think are horrible, the one with the Green Day Heart grenade was awful, whoever did that tattoo is artisitically inept, while on the other end of the sprectrum I think the person who did the Death Cab tatoo is freakin' amazing, not sure if I like the choice, but it does look awsome.

Tattoos are for fags. (and I mean "fags" in the Eminem way, not the George Michael way)
