Test Icicles Split Up

Wow, that was fast. (Via L.) I knew they wouldn't go far with that name. At least now NME can get back to fawning over musicians who matter. Like the Mozfather.

Anyone listen to Moz's entire album yet? I like what I've heard so far, though not as much as the last album.

Where did you get it? I didn't think it had leaked yet.

But if one of them doesn't start dating an ex-super model and publicly battle a drug problem then how will they stay in the spotlight/have any remote success in the future?

honestly, I'm really curious why they are breaking up with such fast success and money to be made? they're musicians isn't that what they've slaved over to be able to even remotely support themselves.

i like the moz record way, way more than the last one -- which i didn't care for at all. much more spark and fire and ingenuity in this one.

I loved the first song that leaked but I haven't heard anything else. If anyone has a link to the leak it would be much appreciated.

Coolio. Test Icicles was an abominable name anyway. They always kindof struck me as being like a jam band that some overzealous NME people found one day and loved, for some unknown reason.

And what's the title of the aforementioned Morrissey song? I wanna hear it...

(One more thing: why do people like Panic! At the Disco? They have the worst name since TI and sound exactly like FOB, except less, um, good. ???)

Is it weird that Moz is on the cover and Panic! At the Disco is featured?

Test Icicles is a bad name. Too easy to just say "testicles" when you're pressed for time. And if they really are a "jam" band, it just gets worse...

NME is shite. Disposability is the name of their game, so it makes sense that any band they've hyped would quickly break up knowing their 15 minutes are over. It all goes with NME's style of hyping a band as the greatest thing ever until tomorrow's greatest thing ever, when yesterday's greatest thing ever becomes completely forgotten. NME could care less how many bands go by the wayside as long as their beat goes on.

OK, is anyone going to post a link to the leaked Morrissey album?? I have heard tracks one and two, parts of another, and want to hear more. Haven't we asked nicely enough?

Think I've heard the first four tracks. Cant wait, though it'll take something to better 'Quarry'. And yes NME is crap - unless Morrissey is in it.

Turns out the Test Icicles breaking up was just a rumor.

"London trio Test Icicles have denied reports they are to split this March. Various internet reports suggested that the group would disband after their forthcoming UK tour commitments.

Guitarist Rory Atwell said: "We are on a sold-out UK tour then onto sold-out dates in Europe and America with a new single and UK tour in April."

He added: "Maybe [we'll do] some festies, after that who knows, depends if anyone's still interested!" "

I probably speak only for myself, but I like them.

Because Panic! at the Disco suck? Is that a good answer?

P!atD are easily the most irritating band I've heard since Hawthorne Heights. The following are defenses I've heard from my friends (that made me shit myself):

"I can't listen to Fall Out Boy forever."

"His voice sounds great, especially when they lay reverb on it. How many bands do that?"

"It's not about sex. They have a song about the guy who wrote Fight Club. Dude, they're literate."

I have to take a second to point out how vapid and stupid the last one is. Not every sad teenager who reads a book is Colin Meloy. Anyone who saw Morgan Freeman dress up on the Electric Company can read.
