The Gnarls/Raconteurs combo was very well done. Not sure about the slip into Always Love, though.

Funny enough, Texas Is The Reason are actually getting back together to play an NYC show. The 18-year-old in me is morbidly curious, while the rest of me is shouting "Emo sucks!!!!"

The highs will be 88-92 degrees.
Not that hot people.
Plus they have more misting tents and shade areas this year.

matt: watch about 15 minutes of Okkervil, then see Cat Power at ACL - also, *please* skip the Okkervil aftershow to see Massive Attack, who are going to be the festival's clear highlight.

when in doubt, just do split sets....you won't kick yourself in the arse later

Mike-
agreed... split sets. Go to wolf parade 2nd. Stars have a better chance of starting on time.

Not sure if Scott mentioned it earlier, but ACL is streaming a bunch of sets through the AT&T Blue Room (like w/ Lollapalooza), including Ted Leo this afternoon..

I was pleasantly surprised to hear Kings of Leon on that mix.
They need to get some more music out.

Ahhhhh, the only good part of the Houston summer is the last couple weeks of September, when the thermometer plummets into the '80s (and so do the bands). We get to sponge off of the ACLfest and hear good bands play cheap shows at some of the city's best venues. So let's see... I should get to see Art Brut/Spinto/We Are Scientists, Long Winters, Enon, Ted Leo, Muse, Architecture in Helsinki, Gossip, French Kicks, in the next few days, with YYYs and Okkervil hot on their heels.

I's almost enough to make the pain go away from the air conditioning bills.

Paul V is a very good DJ, but I just can't deal with mashups anymore. They were fun for 5 minutes but it needs to die as a genre.

PS - What do you mean, "not sure about the slip into 'Always Love'"? ;)

I couldn't get the 19-track mix that Paul V made to play any longer than 3 seconds...just an indie 103 intro...
