That Rejected Nelly Furtado/Chris Martin Duet
Here's a demo of the Nelly Furtado/Chris Martin collaboration that EMI never wanted us to hear. Listening to this version and Nelly's Coldplayless album track back-to-back, I think it's actually in everyone's best interest that it didn't make the cut. But who knows ... maybe they'll make it a single a la Moby & Gwen's "South Side."
Nelly Furtado Feat. Chris Martin - "All Good Things (Must Come To An End)" (MP3 Link Expired)
In the meantime, Chris is keeping busy losing £10,000 on the World Cup and "becoming a real asshole."

Chris Martin is dope y'all.

this song is a rip-off of 'dropout' by urge overkill.
chris martin is a balding muppet.
and since when was nelly furtado ghettofabulist? i thought she was like a bird.
next week; stuart murdoch and beyonce team up for a cover of 'in the ghetto' (feat. redman)

What do you mean, "becoming" an asshole? Seems to be he's already perfected it.

They should have finished this. It sounds like a rather superior Madonna album filler track.

I like it. Grabbed it from Fuel For Friends and good ol' Heather last week. Who gives a crap if Chris mouthed off to an obnoxious critic, dumb enough to turn up on his doorstep. His right babe.
Score = 0
Brutal. That's only slightly better than Linda McCartney singing along to "Hey Jude."

I said it before: EMI should block every song on which Chris Martin is singing.

Too bad she didn't take her new album in this direction. It's good and all, but an obvious Liz Phair-ish attempt at selling records.

Big fat meh. Chris Martin usually has more musical genius than this. He does have one of those personalities that is either condescending or friendly, depending on the other person's perspective. But I don't like Nelly Furtado much.

Nelly Furtado was always ghettofabulous - it just took several years and a trip to Miami for it to come out. She grew up with a strong hip-hop influence (look at her video for "S--- on the Radio" from her first album and the somewhat urban/athletic way she used to dress). It just was overshadowed by the happy "I'm Like A Bird." Also she says motherhood and recording in Miami contributed to her new sexier image - it isn't some Liz Phair type of commercial ploy. Liz Phair was way too sexual to begin with (remember her golden oldie "F--- and Run?"), but Nelly is just making the most of her body. (Hell, if I had her body I'd show it off too.) Other than that, I think everyone in the Martin family (Chris, Gwyneth, their kids, etc) is overrated. Except Blythe Danner (Gwyneth Paltrow's mom).
(And yeah, I've been a Nelly fan since the beginning.)

A bit off-subject I suppose, but where did Scott say he got this from? I wish he would credit his sources a bit more often, eh?

this song is nice enough

This beats the eff out of the album version, which was boring and couldn't hold my attention, personally. Just with his vocals added on, it seems better.

I think its cool that Nelly furtado likes a variety of music..she said she doesnt discrimate against any type of music. I like her she's unique

I thought this was cool, it's nice to hear a bit of studio chatter too, maybe the version with Chris wouldn't have vibed right on the album, but its still good to be able to hear it. Also would be interested to know where this came from...

Nope, Nelly just wants to sell albums. She knew people didn't like her old shit, and she was probably getting poor, so she thought she'd try something that she knew people would like. She sold out. Her music used to be something of substance, and now it's just a big pile of crap.
Chris Martin shouldn't have colaborated with her...there are other artists out there who won't sell their soul to the devil to make money. Keep music about the music...you can still make music and be respectable and make money.

Towards the end Chris Martin gets a hang of the tune and rhythm. It would have been great as a bonus track or something ( like that second, more laid back version of 'Try' on Nelly's preceeding album Folklore ).
This most likely isn't the cut of the song that would have ended up on the release anyways, to all those judging Chris Martin's vocals.

All good things would have definitely gone to #1 becasue majortiy rules and they're the ones that make or break a career. I really like the song. Nelly's first love is Hip Hop and she incorporated hip hop into her music BEFORE she even started recording. If some people couldn't pick up on that on the Whoa Nelly cd or even just by her mannerism then they've been sleeping. See, ignorance isn't always bliss cause then when you finally wake up you get disappointed. Promiscuous didn't take alert heads by surprise.
