We Give Thanks For Stuffed Bellies & Stuffed Gummys

We just opened voting for the 2007 Gummys a few days ago, and already we're on our way to a record turnout. So as you prep for food coma and since it is the season, we just wanted to pause to say: thank you. And to say: If you haven't yet, vote! One randomly selected member of the electorate will get the Top 50 discs as chosen by fellow Stereogum readers compliments of Other Music, a prize even we'd like to take home.

Based on prior discussion on Best Video, it looks like Zach Galifianakis & Will Oldham struck a nerve with that air humping, although don't forget this also was the year of Grizzly's "Knife," Justice's "D.A.N.C.E.," Battles' "Atlas," Robyn's "Konichiwa Bitches," Beirut's "Elephant Gun," etc. and etc. There's hottie talk (from Leslie Feist and Natasha Khan and Annie Clark to Kanye and Britt and Condon and Jens and Krug). But we won't even try to start shortlisting the albums namedrops. (2007's been a good year for LPs. Yes, we realize narrowing it down to three is tough.)

Remember you can vote for anybody, even if there isn't an apparent auto-fill option; if enough people vote similarly, an auto-fill choice will be dynamically created. And if you are writing in a vote, please adhere to the formats suggested on the voting page, else we'll be forced to disqualify your vote and that would suck.

OK. Now hit gummyawards.com. Polls close 12/6 at 6 PM EST. Eat, then vote, then eat some more.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Damn. I voted for Owen Pallett for Mr. Hottness. And while he totes deserves it, Gabe Saporta should be the champ this year. Have you seen his bling?

And Jenny Lewis needs her title back.

Deerhunter or, please don't kill me or ban me from reading this blog, Battles, i like obscure music but they just suck. Definitely have my vote for most overrated
Best Video i think is "The Underdog" by Spoon, i don't know why it is so bad-ass, it just is!
Does Zooey Deschanel count for indie hottie? I mean she had a song with M. Ward and she has an album coming out

I second Arcade Fire for overrated.

Cryptograms is a sad, wonderful record.

I voted Stars for overrated band only because the new album sucks but I totally forgot about Arcade Fire who was way more overhyped with a decent but mediocre second album.

Cryptograms is just beautiful..
Maybe the Deerhunter antics got a little out of control, but they were always interesting I thought..
I always love a little bit of wtf with my 'indie rock'

Also, maybe I'm weird, but I find Bradford to be strangely sensual

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that Annuals' Anna Spence should be a contender for Miss Indie Rock '07. Just sayin'.
