The Last Song On The OC

In most people's minds The OC is already off the air. Not true! Even though we lost the plot around the time Ryan joined Fight Club, FOX's shark-jumping soap won't be put out to pasture until 2/22. The series finale will feature one of it's patented, full-song closing montages. First it was Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" (awesome choice), then Imogen Heap's "Hide And Seek," and of course the cross-pollination of Season 3 with Imogen Heap doing "Hallelujah." AND the series-closing song belongs to ...

... Richie Tenenbaum! Jk/jk. That right there is Patrick Park, the lucky singer/songwriter whose tune will signal the end of an indie-soundtrack epoch. The song's name, perhaps fittingly, is "Life Is A Song," a melancholy slice of smooth neo-folk from his forthcoming, July-released album. Hear it at MySpace. It's quite a coup for the LA-based singer/songwriter to be tapped for the program's last attempt to infiltrate our iPods. You know, 'cause that last act with Zombie Marissa will be a hit for the ages on YouTube.

no, and i am serious about this... this past season of the OC has been the best yet. Once they knew they were off the air, and once Marisa was gone - BEST EVER. Taylor and Ryan rock. Seth's going through some stuff, and it's all just good fun. PLUS, there was an earthquake! it's been great. i'm serious. wait for the dvd to come out, and then you'll regret you didn't see it.

Have to agree with Marah. I stopped watching season2 because it just got so horrible, and finally watched an episode at my friends' insistance. It really is at, or above, season 1 quality.

I'll be sad to see it go.

The kids that choose to just boost up season 1 are fucking douches haha. I know I'm not gonna get away with saying that so let me explain why I said it :

Of course Season 1 was amazing. How the fuck else did you think Fox was gonna draw these little fucking teenagers in. I just think after Season 1 everyone thought the O.C was gonna be about hearing pretentious indie bands( minus the Walkmen and Modest Mouse haha), clubbin, Ryan fighting every episode, and Marissa being a whore. My point is after Season 1 The O.C was put on this pedistal to where it had to live some expectation that was set by a certain demographic of fans . Here is how I would rank the seasons overall

Season 1 : Amazing season and the finale wasn't to bad either.

Season 2 : I tried to measure up to season 1 at some points, but didn't have the same flare. There were some very good storylines in this one

Season 3 : They gave us this season on Sept 3 instead of it's usual November release date and till today I don't know why haha. This was the worst season of the O.C ever. The one highlights were the showdowns with Vulchuck, Tom Vek performing and Marissa said something really rude to summer that had me laughing for hours.

Season 4(Final Season) : Probably one of the strongest O.C season premieres in the shows history, but the season itself isn't that hot. Talk about not going out with a bang.

Top hotties on the O.C

-Ryan
-Seth
-Spencer
-Vulchuck
-Julie( I would go straight for her haha)
-Summer( same as Julie)
-Marissa( same as Julie haha)

That is how I feel about the O.C, but then again it's my opinion. What direction would you guys take the show if you were the producers ?

It's hilarious and appropriate that a sub-par nighttime soap opera with a ravenous hipster AND suburban teenager following has been so unceremoniously dumped by its supporters. But maybe everyone just needed time to figure out "hey, this is just a stupid fucking soap opera".

Which I'm glad for, cause we all watch too much damned T.V.

omg the oc sucked this year! marissa made the show. Ryan andTaylor are not meant for eachother she is so weird. Summer and seth had a different on screen relationship because hey broke up in real life and everything was not the way it used to be. Marissa made the OC, without her everything went down hill from there. THe core four no longer held the show together!

The OC...R.I.P.

FYI - Patrick Park is playing at The Living Room tonight. I don't think he's played NYC in about three years.

this is a funny funny funny review!
ryan in fight club, we certainly did lose the plot there...and whats with the psycho reviews...
Umm Biitcch....funny...(am i being sarcastic??)

and for those who dont like your precious artists showcased to a bunch of indie scensters. TOUGH LUCK. this is probably what they kinda wanted...and there are worse things that being shown on the OC. like being shown on One Tree Hill.
nothing wrong with spreading the music, only when elitist idiots like a lot of people are, get annoyed when others begin to like it. i mean, Get a Life.

The 1st season was absolutely fantastic! Too great for words.

The 2nd season was very good too, it wasn't as good as season 1, but it had been very hard to top season so whatever. I loved it too.

The 3rd season disappointed me so much. Everything was different, it was so sad, but they had a really a great finale, with the graduation and everything.

The 4rth season was okay. But the OC was no longer my favourite show after two disapponting seasons.

Hey I agree the last season was the best. Does anyone know the song that was playing in the series finale episode where Ryans dad is running to the church for Julie and she's not there? It goes, "and all the star didn't wanna play....."
