The Only Living Blog In New York

Not much SXSW news to report, since I'm not there and everything. But according to recent txt messages, Elijah Wood took in Cloud Room and Britt Daniel took a dip in Ben's hot tub. Good live blogging happening at thefader.com.

Q:

What do you get when you mash a couple of Stereogum's favorite new wave hits with this (and a calvalcade of dubbed-up oldies vocals)?

A:

Download Go Home Productions - "Wrapped Detective (Full Version)" courtesy of the brilliant Mark Vidler MP3 page.

If you're taking a computer break from SXSW, shout out in the comments. We'll rock vicariously through y'all.

If you're taking a computer break from Jam Cruise 3, next time don't hide so many drugs in your crotch (via Brooklyn Vegan).

That Jam Cruise 3 thing is pretty sad. Some of those people are older professionals who are being charged with felonies--like that dentist with a few too many tabs of ecstasy. His life is ruined, now.

my friends saw Joanna Newsom and Bill Callahan walking hand in hand in googily-eyed love for what it's worth... is that even interesting enough to be Indie Gossip?

Apples In Stereo Energize Pepsi Rebranding

As we've mentioned in the past (2007), Robert Schneider's not afraid of the graceful sellout. So, no, we're not surprised that he and his E6 cohorts just scored a Pepsi commercial. (Heck, we already knew how much E6-related bands loved...

Quit Your Day Job: The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart

The New Year - "MMV"

We thought it would be wise (and witty) to start the New Year with the New Year, so this week's Drop finds the post-Bedhead Kadane brothers-fronted Touch & Go quintet offering up "MMV," a suitably thematic track from their excellent...
