Toast

Of course.

Too bad I spent my Internet auction stipend on lunch with Chevy Chase.

Archers Of Loaf is on my other computer, so newish Tori will have to suffice.

Tori Amos - "Toast" (MP3 link removed)

I gave up on Famous Amos when she started wearing wigs and talking to faeries. But back in the day I was a big fan.

Visit Here In My Head to download an extensive collection of cover songs Tori's performed over the last few weeks: "Penny Lane," "Streets Of Philadelphia," "Like A Prayer," "Turn The Page," "Rocket Man," "River," "Father Figure," "Livin' On A Prayer" and more (all MP3). Sound quality is hit-or-miss so click around. I'm sure Trent will enjoy the D-town audio.

i saw tori debut the cover of george michael's father figure & it was absolutely amazing. although, toast is not the best song on the new album (which lacks the power of previous albums), it's decent-ish.

I haven't heard Tori's Father Figure cover, I'll have to check it out.

If you like Tori - you may want to check out Jennifer Lee:

here here, i second the tori opinion you expressed as well. "from the choirgirl hotel" was the last album i really got into, and even that, not as much as the previous three. oh well, we all grow up/move on. :\

i liked every tori album up until this new one. boys for pele is still one of my favorites ever, and choirgirl still sounds as good as when it came out in 1998.

i havent seen the latest numbers, but apparently her sales went down the tubes with 'the beekeeper.'

I don't think it occured to me that tori amos would continue making music, so as I scanned this post, I thought, oh great tori spelling made a record, just what the world needs. this is probably because I was watching fantasy island this past sunday afternoon, savoring the delicous spelling irony, and the proto mini-me action. it was the episode where the woman got a ring that could tell the future, and saw her own death. if I had that ring, I would probably just use it to see what was on tv next week.

Awesome, the Fox News reporter who emailed the toast seller is the same woman who thought that "Communists for Kerry" was actually supportive of John Kerry. She appears to have problems perceiving sarcasm, so she may actually report the toast story as straight news.

I was utterly and completely devoted to Tori right until Choirgirl came out. I liked that one ok, but there was so much of the band in there, and it was missing something weird and special that Tori had before, I thought. And then Venus... what the hell was that (except for the live stuff, which was amazing)? Strange Little Girls, ok, but still no magic. Scarlett's Walk was way too mellow and lackluster--like something you'd hear on an "adult light rock, safe for work" radio station. I haven't even bought Beekeeper.

But damn, those first three albums, and all their B-sides, were unfreakingbelievable.

I miss the Tori I once loved. Oh well.

Yeah, she her albums don't sell crazy numbers any more, but her tours are consistently sold out. Her new stuff takes a while to get into and doesnt have the punch of her early stuff, but i really love it. im just a big gay-wad tori fan like that. (b to the dubs, i linked you, scott, to tori's Livin' on a prayer for your birfday).

thanks for the link scott. some of the songs on there are fucking awesome. check out all through the night! closed my eyes and felt as if i was there. she connects so well with her crowds. so much better in person than on a album.

Ok, I kind of understand people that say that Tori has changed. But for hardcore fans like myself, and I guess Trent, the change has been a good thing. Every record is different for me and is great in its own way. When Choirgirl came out a lot of people found it weird, years later, after it settled down, people understood the music and now its considered one of her best albums. The Beekeeper it's a beautiful album. Tori talks about different things but the old stuff is still there. She's still a goddess in every way.
