Is it just me or does this festival somehow get WORSE with every new name announced? Beasties, Depeche Mode, now The Killers and Decemberists?

I keep expecting at least one name to even attempt to rival last year's Radiohead. natch

Tool are huge among assholes. Guess they're hitting the asshole demographic.

Tool's a nice add, and I commend the Lou Reed get (though that's risky - seems he's gone the quieter route as of late and has had bouts of antagonism with fans at shows).

Otherwise, total blah among the top card. Hoping that the mid-tier is more interesting, especially with Perry's comments about a strong stable of electro artists. As it stands, I'm praying Tool and Lou play the same day, because I do not want to get a 3-day for this.

Tool is the only band I give two fucks about. The Killers blow. The problem is there are too many almost-headliners when they should have just booked 3 really solid headliners. I know how Lolla works with the dual headliner setup but this years its not working to their advantage.

really? are you guys really blasting a festival whose headliners are depeche mode, tool and jane's addiction?

have you gotten SO indie rock that you've forgotten how important those bands are?

i swear some of you just log onto this site and post comments because you enjoy hating on things.

maybe instead of listening to the new a.c. newman record all day and thinking that you are so cool because you have the deluxe remastered version of slanted and enchanted and show a little bit of class and respect.

douchebags.

alright look, im legitimately mad because I go to lolla every year and those bands are completely irrelevant for a modern festival in chicago. last year we got tom yorke, jeff tweedy, and a strong kanye coming off glow in the dark tour to choose from, people that matter in the 2000s. little over the top to go with the douchebag route, but obviously you like to "show a little class"

Since when have Tool ever been an important band? And would you have us believe that we should be listening to Maynard's side projects (cuz we all know how seminal A Perfect Circle were, right?) instead of Carl Newman's solo work? Yeah, no. I rather like my Pavement reissues, so I think I'll keep them for now, but if I ever get the urge to listen to 'Stinkfist' again (which I won't), I'll be sure to trade them in.

Why would you credit The Daily Swarm with this info when all they're doing is pulling the Trib and Sun-Times RSS feeds and reprinting them?

i mean sounds great... but not worth 250 bones. radiohead was worth every penny last year. last year it seemed that rage and NIN got all the love on the late night sets... just more of that demographic to me
