David Bazan Plays New Tunes In Asheville

if you head over to It's Hard To Find A Friend it's easy to find and download David Bazan's entire 11/4 show at Asheville, North Carolina's Grey Eagle. It's a solid, extensive set that includes six new songs from the forthcoming Barsuk album plus a cover of that most covered of songs "Hallelujah" (which, yes, will be on the new album, too). Our favorite of the new batch is "Please Baby Please." We previously posted another live version, so now you can see the tune from a couple angles. The other newbies are "Heavy Breath," "Weeds In The Wheat," "Untitled," "Curse Your Branches," and "American Flags." You'll also note four pretty intimate and funny Q&As with the audience, where we get recommendations for Chinese Fusion restaurants and learn that Dave likes that "kick ass" movie Sense And Sensibility ("Watch Brokeback Mountain first ... Ang Lee's a genius. That guy's a really smart motherfucker."), among other things. Kinda makes us want to go to a David Bazan show. Thusly, tour dates after the jump.
