My Bloody Valentine Announces Full(er) Tour

thubmnail icon: My Bloody Valentine Announces Full(er) Tour

As mentioned previously, My Bloody Valentine are returning to the US of A for their first show in 16 years when they touch down in Monticello, New York to curate a jam-packed edition of All Tomorrow's Parties with Polvo, Built To Spill, Shellac, Tortoise, and other bands we listened to a lot before we had facial hair (as well as some relative newbies like Drones, Fuck Buttons, Wooden Shjips, etc.). Well, for those of you who can't make it to NY State, those seminal shoegazers might be coming a tad closer to your hometown than you originally thought. Some dates were already announced, like Roskilde and some UK stuffs, but there are definitely surprises.

ahh drats, the ol' "3 biggest cities in the U.S." type of tour without any luck for those in between or who have adult responsibilities during the week.

tickets for the uk dates were £25 (about $50), so not horribly expensive. it would be really weird if they jacked up the prices in america.

tickets right now @ Ticketmaster are $48 (not including service charges and such)

I haven't been able to find this out anywhere, so does anyone know if the lineup is Kevin, Colm, Debbie, and Bilinda? I'd hate if this were like the Pumpkins' reunion where you didn't know if Darcy and James were in it or not until right before the album was released.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the Concourse in SF is the worst venue in the state! I'd rather MBV just skip us entirely.

It sucks that they're not playing Dublin...apparently Kevin Shields fell out with his family and hates the place...but how can a band do a re-union tour and not visit the city where it all started??

danieljosef - Buy floor tickets. You won't be able to completely fool yourself into believing that you're in a decent venue but, from a certain angle, you can avoid looking directly at the score board.

Its weird how the NYC and LA dates have not sold out yet. I thought these things would be gone instantaneously. I guess the hype and demand to see them was bigger on the blogs than in reality.
