New Crystal Stilts - "Prismatic Room"

thubmnail icon: New Crystal Stilts - "Prismatic Room"

When I featured Crystal Stilts in an installment of The Outsiders, I posted "Crippled Croon," a standout from their recent self-titled Woodsist EP. As mentioned then, it's an older recording from way back in '05, but the Brooklyn band has a full-length of new material Alight Of Night forthcoming, fittingly, on Slumberland. They recently posted a track from it up at their MySpace. Head there to hear the shimmery dream-pop of "Prismatic Room" and get an idea of why we can't stop listening to CS. Also, that isn't an updated photo -- Frankie, ex-Vivian Girls, is their current drummer (speaking of bands we can't stop listening to...). If you want to see what the current Stilts look like, you'll have to check them out in person. The dates:

UPDATE: Unfortunately, "Prismatic Room" is no longer streaming, but we do have an MP3 for "Crippled Croon" following the tour dates...

08/04 - Boston, MA @ Great Scott
08/05 - Montreal, QC @ Zoobizarre
08/06 - Toronto, ON @ Sneaky Dees
08/07 - West Lafayette, IN @ Zooleggers
08/08 - Chicago, IL @ Subterranean
08/10 - Bloomington, IN @ bears place
08/11 - Columbus, OH @ Cafe Bourbon Street
08/12 - Pittsburgh, PA @ Rickety House
08/13 - Washington DC @ DC9
08/14 - Chapel Hill, NC @ The Cave

In case you missed the EP track before, here it goes again:

Um, what? Shimmery dream pop? Yeah. Not a single distinctive thing about the song and can't understand a word. Mybloodygivemeabreak.

My bloody what? how does this sound shoegze at all? sounds pretty good to me in a 60's folk rock way. lazy comparisons, yuck.
