The National Set To Open For Arcade Fire

Hold on to your checkbooks. Hope you already Craigslisted your way into Arcade Fire tickets, 'cause the market's about to get unbearable. The National, who have already sold out a five-night run at Bowery next month, will open for the Blender cover kids for seven shows. The dates:

05/01 - Atlanta, GA @ Atlanta Civic Ctr. Theatre
05/02 - Asheville, NC @ Thomas Wolfe Auditorium
05/04 - Washington, DC @ DAR Constitution Hall
05/05 - Upper Darby, PA @ Tower Theatre
05/07 - New York, NY @ United Palace
05/08 - New York, NY @ United Palace
05/09 - New York, NY @ Radio City Music Hall
Let the price gouging begin! And the eye gouging.

Just to recap, that cover features The Killers, Panic! At The Disco, Daughtry, Fergie, and Arcade Fire. The kids are finally getting somewhere.

It makes me cry when I see a magazine mention both the Arcade Fire, and Fergie's....(ugh..).."Lady" lumps.

I have no intentions to ever eat a sandwich with that Disco band. Unless they're paying...

And Anon, I am very jealous.

HAHAHAHA northerners! we get the Arcade Fire/National tour AND the Myrtle Beach Hard Rock Cafe park announcements in ONE DAY! this is almost enough for me to forgive the roughly 293047098 bands who refuse to cross the Mason-Dixon (or, alternately, tour through Florida only and call it their "Southeastern leg").

The headline should've read "Is Arcade Fire actually, um, good?"
