Phish Announce Reunion Tour Dates
Scooping phish.com and phish.net, Billboard has announced a string of confirmed reunion tour dates for the second generation jam-scene stalwarts and the trustafarians who love them. The trek commences a couple of months after the previously reported Hampton run in March, with a pair of shows at the Jones Beach Amphitheater in New York and rolling through the month of June. More shows will surely pop up, but for now there's a conspicuous hole in the itinerary where a stop in Manchester, TN would fit (6/12-13), giving some more credence to those Phish-and-Bruce headlining Bonnarumors. Here's how it's looking:
03/06 - Hampton, VA @ Hampton Coliseum
03/07 - Hampton, VA @ Hampton Coliseum
03/08 - Hampton, VA @ Hampton Coliseum
06/04 - Wantagh, NY @ Jones Beach
06/05 - Wantagh, NY @ Jones Beach
06/06 - Mansfield, MA @ Great Woods
06/07 - Camden, NJ @ Susquehanna Bank Center
06/09 - Asheville, NC @ Asheville Civic Center
06/16 - St. Louis, MO @ Fox Theatre
06/18 - Burgettstown, PA @ Post-Gazette Pavilion
06/19 - Noblesville, IN @ Deer Creek Music Center
06/20 - East Troy, WI @ Alpine Valley
06/21 - East Troy, WI @ Alpine Valley
The time is now to invest in the kind-veggie-burrito business of your dreams. More news for phans: The band's releasing a seven-DVD look back at Clifford Ball, 1996's three-day destination show in Plattsburgh which featured nine hours of music over six sets and a helluva traffic jam on the way out. Bonus goodies include the mobile flatbed truck jam the band played while cruising through the camping grounds late night, a half-hour behind the scenes feature, and two original wristbands for preorderers. Buy at Dry Goods. Also worth noting: Trey might have that vintage guitar tone back thanks to a fan-donation of his old Ross compressor. On hearing the news Paul Languedoc shed a tear of joy.
UPDATE: Actually phish.com made the dates known via some "Punch You In The Eye" skywriting.

I find it interesting that there is a gap in their schedule from 6/10 to 6/15. Those are the days the Bonnaroo fest normally takes place, thus adding more fuel to the rumor that they are playing at Bonnaroo this year.

Good observation. I noticed the same thing-- especially when Amrit mentioned it a few lines up.

The show in Mansfield, MA, is actually at the Comcast Center.
Understandable if some people can't keep up with all the damn name changes, but it hasn't been Great Woods for nine years now. (It was the Tweeter Center from 1999 until the summer of 2008).

don't be surprised to see a 5 night stint @ red rocks

Sounds like whoever wrote this article is an actual phish fan. When I saw the headline I expected the article to be snarky and full of ridicule. Kudos to you guys for being open minded to something that most of the indie crowd LOVES to hate. I don't really listen to jambands anymore since phish was the last one to do anything original but the first time I saw these guys was the best concert I have ever and probably will ever see. That being said, their post-hiatus stuff was pretty rank for the most part since they stopped practicing in order to "focus on being in the moment". I'm not going this time around unless I hear a marked improvement in these shows.

Agreed. Not much of a Phish fan but I've seen some DVD performances that have blown my mind. You should be able to respect a band whose music you don't particularly like.

If a boner, for a man, is the physical 'height' of anticipation for something, be it sexual, animal, or mineral, then RENOB! My dick just shriveled back up into my body. This news is spanish-fly for irrelevant and dead things
Yes I love 7th grade.

In response to Jack- you either:
1. have never heard the Grateful Dead and/or Phish
2. you listen to bands with at least 1 guitar player, keyboarist, drummer, and bassist and assume thewy all sound the same.
D. Your ears don't work.
or
13. You don't mean what you said, you just thought it would make you sound witty.
Only about 3% of Dead songs can be comprable to Phish songs in style/genre/whatever and that's probably because Phish has so many effin songs that you could say a thousands bands sound like them...including the 650 sh*t run-of-the-mill wankfest jambands that came after Phish.
And just to throw a lil pepper into the mix- Jerry's guitar tone was shrill and annoying and most Dead improvisations go nowhere.

Great comment. I would agree 100%.
