Tom Petty Reforms Mudcrutch For Debut LP

Runnin' down a dream, etc. Maybe after Tom softly rocked the Superbowl Halftime show, he realized he had nowhere else to go but (I won't back) down. Or, maybe he was itching to recapture the past and realized too many Traveling Wilbury's could no longer travel. Whatever the case, Tom's reuniting his pre-Heartbreakers band, Mudcrutch, for a new album and a tour of California. Via Tom Petty's site:

The long awaited debut album from Mudcrutch, recorded in just two weeks last August, will be released on Reprise Records on April 29. Mudcrutch features Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Tom Leadon, and Randall Marsh.
In the early 70's, they were heroes in their hometown of Gainesville, Florida. Mudcrutch seemed poised for more. But the band never cracked the national music scene or made a full album. Now, more than 30 years later and quite unexpectedly, the Mudcrutch story continues.
In addition to the release of the album on April 29, the band will undertake a short tour of intimate California venues starting on April 12 in Malibu and ending with a four-night run at the 500 capacity Troubadour in Los Angeles

We have specific dates for interested parties...

I was hoping Jack White would reform the Upolsterers after Meg's breakdown last summer. Brian Muldon was a competent, abliet non (a)cute. Quick! Name your "dream band composed of a rock star who abandoned earlier projects and became famous then returned to his original band to release and LP and tour".

Isn't this basically just the Heartbreakers under a different name?
