Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band are a new Seattle quintet with a long name. We've been enjoying their self-released Weepy EP, so we thought we'd post something from it. "Dull Reason"'s a an angular, noodling summertime pop jam with hills...

what Satellite said.
The Mysterious Production of Eggs is the best thing i've heard so far this year.
Nervous Tic is cool, but hardly the best track. Measuing Cups, Fake Pallindromes, Masterfade, Table & Charis, and Sovay are all just stunning imo.

Down with Bunky
Score = 0
Bunky is the most fun band ever. We did an American Idol parody a couple of years ago and Emily was Paula to my Simon. Way fun. They deserve to be HUGE even if the o.g. version of "Baba" is 10 times better than this one.

i have to jump in about mister bird's new album, too. i absolutely adore it. i have many favorites, but i have to say that "tables and chairs" is one of the most perfect songs i've heard in quite a while. and c'mon. it includes the line "there will be snacks!!"

i'm glad to see the clap your hands and say yeah track on your list. i've been unable to stop myself from listening to it ever since i got it! i can't wait for them to put out a cd or something.
thanks for the links!

Another thanks for the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah track! (This sounds like one of those fake record company comments already) I met Alec the singer from that band in 2003 at an open mic in Philly. He gave me his demo and I loved it, but his email address was unreadable on the demo. I could tell it was him right away when I heard Tidal Wave.
Oh and I saw Andre Bird's Bowl of Fire open up for the Squirrel Nut Zippers in 98 and he was awesome! I've been meaning to catch him again live.
