Van Halen Summer Tour 2007
You all heard about likely HOFers Van Halen replacing Michael Anthony with Eddie's son Wolfgang. We suspect nepotism. The Van Halens are in the studio writing new music (porn soundtracks, presumably) ... but no news re: Sammy Vs. Dave Vs. Guy From Extreme Vs. maybe Eddie's Nephew? Or is there? G4TV is confident next summer's confirmed tour will have a familiar face centerstage.

We don’t know who will sing for the band yet, but we know Eddie is open to working with Roth (he said so on Stern) and that no one is denying that Diamond Dave could be the frontman. Michael Anthony was a solid bass player, and as mentioned above, people don't realize the great contributions he made on vocals.

one thing which might be interesting, if they actually have Eddie's son on bass and his nephew on vocals--the band Van Halen will consist of all Van Halens. But, (ironically?) it won't really be Van Halen.

Look, I know the band has two Van Halens in it, so they have every right to call it Van Halen. But it ain't. Just as Van Cherone hadn't a right to claim what it did. That Sammy integrated himself as well as he did post-Roth is miraculous.
But Michael Anthony is really a backbone member. Lose him and you lose an awful lot. And to those who say, "He wasn't on the new tracks on the recent Best Of Comp", I say... name those songs. Don't go to AMG, don't go to Amazon or CDUniverse. Name them off the top of your head.

Michael Anthony wasn't that great of a bass player... His falsetto harmonies were a joke... The only two members of Van Halen that really matter are Eddie and Dave. So, if there is a 2007 tour and Ed doesn't want Van Halen sinking like the Titanic, he needs Dave back. Ed played better and wrote better with Dave. Plus, they sold a whole hell of a lot more albums with Dave than they did Sam.

If they would reunite with Dimond Dave and keep Mad Mike on bass then it will sound like a follow up tour from 1984, because despite Daves new look he sounds great,and Sammy Hagar sounds old and unmotivated especially on their 2004 tour. I believe this is their last time to get it right im sure they will.

For me as a guitarist it was always Ed is number 1. No one else comes close, and Van Halen was the greatest rock band in the world Dave-Sammy. But nothing sickens me more than to see "Eddie," who we all knew as happy and an open faucet of musical ideas turn into "Edward" the Quack. What an a-hole he has turned into. In one article he stated that he now wears the first pair of shoes he was able to purchase on his own to remember where he came from. And yet he is willing to turn his back on a founding member, M. Anthony, and drag his talented son through the mud of his personal issues. I truelly beleive Ed has some form or forms of mental illnesses due to abuse of substances or something. 1996 was the last time anything worth listening to was written. Ed, your a has been no matter how hard you try to sound and look like the "good old days." Go play some more porno crap and leave rock to bands like Aerosmith who still kick ass as hard as they used to, because they remember where they came from you mental midget!

Is anybody interested in waiting to hear something before making a judgement. Sure I'd like to see 100% original VH, but I'm not gonna bet against any offspring of Eddie! It should be a great show if he can stay sober. Hell, I'd pay to see him play drunk. But Anthony as a vocalist...I've heard quite a few guys in bars that could pull it off. C'mon, it's background rock vocals, not opera.

I hope they make more albums after they tour, everyones waiting for the next full cd. Once they have a band they want, they will easily pass the Stones and Aerosmith for record sales. Yes it will not be the same VH that I know withough Mikey, but then again music evolves and I'm going to give Wolfgang a chance.

At this point, i can't stand to hear anything Eddie has to say about his problems. I am glad he tried to clean himself up but to get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and not even show up to the the ceremony...What a punch in the face to all VH fans. David Lee Roth too. Where does he get off not showing up either. He can't even keep a talk radio show on the air and is so desperate for money that he releases a bluegrass album of Van Halen songs!! Anthony not being involved.....It's a business - Anthony is friends with Hagar: Do you really think the VHs want Anthony on tour and relaying everything to Hagar about what's really going on? If the PR team is worth a grain of salt - this will "look" like the greatest tour ever. If VH comes out with a new album after the tour (w/ DLR at the helm) then you'll know it truly was the best tour ever. Let's all hope that's the case. WE all love M. I was at the Greensboro, NC concert and Eddie, Alex and wolfgang gave a great show.. didn't miss a beat and sounded great!! David Lee Roth did fine but his timing was off a lot of the times and he did this really weird thing at the end of the show on an inflatable giant microphone, he straddled it and was hopping around. lol (little weird) but nobody seemed to mind that dave was off beat, everybody there was just glad to be there and had a terrific time.. I never saw anyone sit down the entire show. I know Eddie has been through a lot but it didn't show onstage.. he's awesome, same for Alex outstanding!

Those of you who stuck with VH through VanHagar years I give Kudo's to, and if you are loyal to MA that's great, but I am there for Eddie playing his legendary kick ass orgasmic chords and riffs, to hear Dave's electric spine chilling voice and to hear the primal drum beats in "Everybody Wants Some"! I know you WANT SOME TOO!!!
