Van Halen Clan To Temporarily Adopt David Lee Roth

Sources tell Billboard.com a contract could be signed as soon as today for Live Nation to produce a 40-date amphitheatre tour by Van Halen this summer, with original frontman David Lee Roth back in the fold for the first time in more than 20 years.As previously reported, guitarist Eddie Van Halen's 15-year-old son Wolfgang has stepped in for original bassist Michael Anthony in the new incarnation of the group, which also features drummer Alex Van Halen.
We love rumors, but we love Billboard reported rumors even more. (That's the truthiest rumor there is!) So, Diamond Dave is set to party like it's 1984, eh? Three Van Halens and a Lee Roth sounds like a good time to us. We insist on flying splits.

Let's consider Van Halen and their long string of stupid actions over the course of the last 10-20 years, particularly Eddie Van Halen:
* Firing Sammy and hiring Gary Cherone
* Suing Sammy Hagar for using Van Halen material on his solo tours.
* Firing Michael Anthony in 2003 only to fire him again in 2006 after the reunion tour
* Hiring Wolfgang Van Halen as the bassist
* leading DLR on for the "Best of" Compilation only to fire him again
* years of alcohol drugs and rehabs only to jump in it again.
* complete and total disregard for the fans
* complete and total disrespect for Warner Brothers and Ted Templeman over the years.
* a catalog of music which for the most part contains subject matter of
partying, drugs, women, debauchery, and sheer stupidity
* Complete and total disregard for his family, particularly Valerie Bertinelli
So now we're faced with the reality of Van Halen entering the Hall of Fame. Well who's gonna show up? DLR, Sammy? Gary? WOLFGANG??? Well,
I say scratch em'!! There comes a time when one's musical contribution are so buried in their crap that we forget why they were so great to
begin with. In the end Eddie has become a stench. A stench to his family, a stench to his bandmates, to his fans, to the industry and to
me. If I was DLR or Sammy I would stay home while Eddie with his brother and his son accept an award that doesn't mean much outside of
his flashy guitar playing.
Begon EVH! I wouldn't see you for free in my own backyard.

At this point, there is no VH. It's the Van Halen Family Players featuring David Lee Roth on the "so long, farewell, auf wiedersehn" tip. Ja!
Don't get me wrong; they have every right to do their thing, but Michael Anthony was a stable member of the group. He's on every album except for the half-assed recent Best-Of new tracks (and he was completely dialed out of the mix for "Finish What Ya Started"). He has shown a heck of a lot more stability than the namesake lead guitarist who, on recent guitar player magazines, looks just frightening and creepy.
I would actually pay cash to see Sammy, Mad Anthony and The Other Half. At least they're having some fun. The new VH seems born out of desperation, and if that floated my boat, I would have joined the G'NR bandwagon six months ago.

I heard DLR couldn't hold his wind during his tour with Sammy Hagar. Hopefully he's been hitting the stairmaster in anticipation of 40 dates. I'd love to see a fit Van Halen reunion.

eddie van halen is a guitar god withoiut him there would be no music today. he began what is called the best rock group in the world. The band is fueled by David lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen and his guitar riffs. No body can come close to it, Now to talk about the music today alot of it is about death and suicide... so this music that van halen is playing is very up beat not deppressing. People are people and they do what ever they want to do music will not infiltrate someones life it is the persons choice to listen or not to listen. What I am saying is these guys still have the talent unlike the people on american idol, you either do or you don't. Van Halen is the greatest rock band along with The Darkness which is the greatest rock band produced in 20 years with the 2 thumbs up THANKYOU
