Franz Ferdinand Offer Update On Third Album, Song To Madden 2009

thumbnail icon: Franz Ferdinand Offer Update On Third Album, Song To Madden 2009

After offering that 45-second clip a couple months ago, Franz Ferdinand are giving us a bit more info about their upcoming third record: It's out January, but you can hear new FF -- a song that may or may not be on the new album -- as part of the soundtrack for Madden NFL 09, due 8/12. (The one with Favre on the cover.) If you're not a video game player, no worries, you could also possibly catch the new song(s) at one of FF's upcoming live dates:

06/26 - Yeovil, England @ Orange Box
06/27 - Glastonbury, England @ Glastonbury Festival
06/28 - Cardiff, Wales @ The Point
06/29 - Leeds, England @ Faversham
07/04 - Tallinn, Estonia @ Ollesummer Festival
07/12 - Ferrara, Italy @ Piazza Castello
07/18 - Southwold, England @ Henham Park (Latitude Festival)
07/19 - Gräfenhainichen, Germany @ Ferropolis (Melt! Festival)
08/07 - Skanderborg, Denmark @ Skanderborg Festival
08/08 - Gothenburg, Sweden @ Way Out West Festival
08/15-17 - Biddinghuizen, Netherlands @ Lowlands Festival
08/30 - Stradbally, Ireland @ Electric Picnic
08/31 - Argyll, Scotland @ Hydro Connect Festival

Note: This is what the dates look like with graphic design pizazz. The Scots also talk about the tour at their MySpace and brand new diary. Enough with the new, though. Remember this?

Probably sounds a lot better now that it's been deleted from your iPod for a few years.

Why do we have to wait til January for a record they are finishing mixing right now? It should be out September or October at the latest.

Seriously, that does seem like an incredible long time. I thought the status quo was to do it the other way around and give it less time to leak...

I've never thought the drummer was cute, but he looks good in that pic.

Yeah, the wait on this album has been a bit frustrating. Haven't Arctic Monkeys released 2 albums and a side project in the time since You Could Have It So Much Better?
