Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock To Help You Realize That Dream Of Getting Next To Bret Michaels

Didn't make the cut for Rock Of Love? Instead of getting sad about missing your chance to flash your fake boobs for Bret, how about about getting psyched to air guitar next to a pixilated version of him? Now we're talkin'. Trust the folks over at Activision to push the definition of "legend" with the forthcoming Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock. Via USA Today:

An animated Michaels sings on the Poison track "Talk Dirty To Me" and "Go That Far" from the Bret Michaels Band.
And it don't stop! Now you can be Axel Steel and face off in a guitar solo duel against Slash (as long as you complete all the song levels in the game, so get those fake freboard fingers in shape). Slash even completed a special recording just for you, the prospective Guitar Hero purchaser. Still waiting on that Mr. Hudson autobio, but this is a much more productive Slash-related tool for procrastination. Right? Check the Saul-ful Guitar Hero III artwork after the jump.

Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock is out on 10/29.

I don't understand why they decided to go with the 80s theme for GH3... Maybe if the game were called "Synth Hero" or "Cocaine Overdose"...

-GH80s was an exclusive PS2 game. It is different from the upcoming, all platform, GH3: Legends of Rock.

Maybe understanding the appeal of the game wouldn't be so hard to get if you PLAYED it. It's video-game-style mindless fun (an oxymoron, I know).

You guys missed the other Guitar Hero III song inclusion that was announced today: The Stone Roses - "She Bangs the Drums."

http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/news/?id=17135

Combine this with tracks from the Beastie Boys ("Sabotage"), Weezer ("My Name is Jonas"), Smashing Pumpkins ("Cherub Rock"), The Strokes ("Reptilia"), Queens of the Stone Age ("3's and 7's"), and Muse ("Knights of Cydonia")...and you've got probably the closest to a hipster-friendly Guitar Hero as you're going to get.

I didn't like the song on GH2 (except trogdor really) so i am glad to see that this game's sound track is going to be good (minus Bret Michaels)

Every time I read that Muse song title, I'm reminded that there's a fizzy apple flavoured soft drink here in the UK and Ireland called "Cidona" and it tastes exactly like cider. If you were ever wondering why Irish people are always spannered drunk, it's probably because we have been drinking Cidona since we were little. I know it's off topic and all, but Muse are really shit and Cidona is really great.
