Guns N' Roses' "Shackler's Revenge" Set For Rock Band 2

thubmnail icon: Guns N' Roses' "Shackler's Revenge" Set For Rock Band 2

"Shackler's Revenge," a new Guns N' Roses song (from a new Guns N' Roses album), will be included in Rock Band 2, according to a report in The NY Times. It's not one of the tracks that leaked last month to unenthusiastic reviews. The popular video game has been an effective marketing tool for bands like Mötley Crüe. "I credit Rock Band for bringing in the younger audience," their manager tells the Times. "The people who downloaded that song aren't just listening to it, they're interacting with it." Short of Rock Of Love 3, this is Axl's best shot at relevancy 17 years after Use Your Illusion. Rock Band 2 is out in September -- will Chinese Democracy not be far behind? Signs point to: buy your own Dr. Pepper.

Here's the alleged Rock Band 2 tracklist that's been circulating online ("Bodhitsattva"!)...

Some of these songs would be really cool on Rock Band ("Pinball Wizard," "Alive," "E-Pro") but the inclusion of "Tangled Up in Blue" makes me think its fake. Although that its a great song off an amazing album, it would be stupid on a video game. Its a folk song.

Yeah that list looks great. A lot better than the original Rock Band setlist, imo. but wtf is with "tangled up in blue"? one of the best songs ever recorded, but it doesn't fit.
