Video Hangover: Eric Prydz - "Call On Me"

Every week, we dig in the archives for videos that we find noteworthy, memorable, or just unbelievably stupid. And then, Jon McMillan breaks 'em down for you. Why Video Hangover? Because when you watch as many videos as we do, you're going to feel it afterwards.

"Call On Me"
Eric Prydz, 2004

NSFWorkout.

A special treat today for those of you who like Steve Winwood, techno, and soft-core pornography. I wouldn't have thought that was much of a demographic to target, but Eric Prydz got all oiled up, looked himself in the mirror, and said: I can do this. Or maybe he just found a sample of somebody else saying "I can do this" and played it over and over. The point is: Eric Prydz is my hero. I'm sure there's also a lesson in here about physical fitness, but I'm not quite sure what it is. Shave really closely? Ironically, I think the video goes off the rails a bit at 1:49, when two hands caress two giant breasts in close-up. Why go there? (Wait, don't answer that.) But with that self-groping, the last shred of coyness goes out the window, and the whole thing degenerates into a massive dry hump. Unless, of course, it's some kind of aerobics move. In which case I definitely need to work out more.
