A Plea To Lily

So while we were watching silken-voiced chanteuse Feist at Town Hall last night, word is that Lily was up to her old tricks and disappointing a full-house at Roseland Ballroom. We hear she was hours late, wasted, and had to use lyric sheets to remember the words to her tunes. All 11 of 'em!

Now, we don't try and hide our Lily love (hence a post fascinatingly titled "Lily's Current Mood: Better") and the next time something from Alright, Still gets translated into Simlish we'll probably be here to post that, too. Yes, Lily luv, you give good interview and your MySpace page is a blogger's wet dream. But are you really doing a States "premiere" of the same "LDN" video that's been on YouTube for nine months? (Did anybody else catch that on TRL yesterday? Did we just sound pathetic for watching TRL hoping to see a new Lily video? Actually, don't answer.)

So please Lil, put down the bottle, forget about Girls Aloud and Winehouse's skeletal frame, and just release some new songs. And no, covering Kaiser Chiefs most definitely does not count. Though this teaser for "Oh My God" does have us pretty psyched for the full vid treatment. 'Cause you're a cute cartoon.

no stereogum, you aren't pathetic for wanting to watch the video: even i felt the need to watch it (and that's saying something).

not sure what you guys heard, but my friend was at last night's show and she said it was great.

Why would you expect a new video?
I think you must be feeling slightly naive today about how the music industry feels about the state it's in at the moment. Are they really going to spend another $100,000 on a video when they already have one?

Don't think that's the worst video you'll have to compromise with.
Can see why you feel a little cheated though.

I'm sick of her. Go away, Lily. Go away.

Don't take your news from Perez, maybe actually link or read specific reviews of people who were there, instead of hearsay. I was at the show last night and it was a lot of fun. Lily did forget some of the words but she apologized profusely and was in very good spirits. And 9:30 is hours late? Maybe for the 13 year olds, but hardly for anyone who frequents shows. From what I saw the crowd was hardly disappointed.

I was at the majority of the show last night, she performed just fine, people overreact. As for her being late? I called Roseland at 5 to ask when she was scheduled to go on, their answer? 9:30....

I was at the show and it was brilliant. She was scheduled to go on at 9:30 and she went on at exactly 9:30. People that got there at the time the doors opened clearly have never gone to a show in NYC. There will always be opening acts - as you well know. Lily was darling through out the whole show. She forgot lyrics to one song and it didn't matter because most of the audience sang along with her. It was a great show and judging by the smiles on people's faces when they left it seemed like a lot of people enjoyed the show.

Yes you are pathetic but as pathetic as she is. She's just showing who she really is, the Ugly Allen i know, the spoiled brat, the fat Paris Hilton. You were just fooled because she comes from England and you think it's cool but finally come to YOUR senses and realize that you were wrong about this little talentless bitch from the beginning.

she was great last night, really entertaining and right on point as usual. although she could have done some new songs... the heart of glass cover can be considered "new" i guess, but she did play that last time she was here. overall, though, great time. but last time i spend any money to hear the same show again.

yeah that's overly harsh. i landed a $10 ticket as she went on, which was promptly at the advertised time of 9:30. she didn't appear drunk and is in fact much cuter in person. she was open about needing lyric sheets for some songs, but it was kind of charming and didn't detract.

she could've phoned it in w/ only having the one album, but she played a bunch of covers on top of the album and got 75 mins out of it. hard to realistically expect much more than that. she mos def seemed to give a shit.

Does anyone else think that this video is somewhat reminiscent of Daft Punk's Interstella 5555 except it's a human taken to robots/aliens instead of the other way around? Yeah.
