Alternate Kanye West Video (Feat. Zach Galifianakis & Will Oldham) - "Can't Tell Me Nothing"

Must-see video of the week? Right here. Been hearing a lot about Zach's vid collab with Kanye, and we even got a peek at it during Galifianakis's now-infamous bad art auction (ostrich!), but now it's fit for your consumption. Starring Zach and Will Oldham as two of the nation's finest farmers. Will can't keep a straight face in those dark face shots, but we give Bonnie 'Prince' props for being an unexpectedly awesome hype man. There's no shame in Galifianakis's tractor gyrations either; as he said at Hiro after soaking up cat calls upon his jacket removal: "Yeah, I know I have a good body." (via P4K)

I have a suspicion that Kanye has no idea what makes this video funny.

The landscapes look really beautiful though.

But does anyone else have nightmares about Zach?

...no, seriously.

damn guys, do you really think Kanye has no idea what he's doing? hasn't he proven himself enough time understanding what the white kid bloggers will go nuts for? Daft Punk samples. A-Trak for a DJ. The skull hoodies.

His parents are both professors, don't get fooled by all this "college dropout" stuff.

Plinko is dead on. Kanye is smarter than most of you clueless interdorks as you complain about your jobs he's a creatin' dem. I hate white people. Nice video - Zach is the future.

thinking kanye doesn't know what he is doing is pretty stupid, but not nearly as stupid as professing to hate an entire race of people.

it doesn't take a genius to realize that some goofy bearded white guys lip synching to a hip hop song in a farm backdrop would be funny. and it is.

Wonder if this was filmed on Zach's farm (in NC) or Will's land (in Kentucky). Either way, really beautiful farm.

That was almost as funny as Will's dance moves on Conan O'Brien.

It was shot at Zach's farm in NC.

Kanye knows fiona personally through his friendship/partnership with Jon Brion, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's how they got in touch.

of course kanye knows what he's doing. it's pretty damn smart, too -- it makes me like this shitty song more.

Jeez, Did he really smoke his Bush-hog? It takes a lot to break one of those.

As far as the Kubota tractor and the Stihl chain saw - quality product that can take a beating.

zach talked about it briefy over at the fader (the whole post makes them seem completely oblivious to hip-hop in general, kinda funny) and it appears as though kanye actually saw zach perform and saw similar videos zach did to this online, and asked him to do this

wow kanye now has hit a tipping point of hipster zeitgeist with the daft punk remix, murakami art work and now will oldham, (for being so obscure he can be quite the whore).

I like how Zach has a dip in for a lot of the shots. That guy loves his Skoal.
