Andrew Bird Previews New Songs In NYC

thumbnail icon: Andrew Bird Previews New Songs In NYC

Lately, we've been doing quite a bit of Andrew Bird watching. There's the studio version of "Oh No" from the forthcoming Noble Beast, but also a number of live Bird songs (including "Oh No") floating around out there. After Bird's recent show at the Hiro Ballroom in NYC, we can add a couple more tracks to the flock. You've likely heard one before ("Masterswarm"), but there are some Noble Beasts newbies. The person recording these has a good camera/vantage point:

"Masterswarm"

"Natural Disaster"

"Fitz And The Dizzyspells"

Plus, a new version of "The Confession":

Noble Beast is out in January on Fat Possum.

Don't you know that NYC kids like to think they're the center of the world? Don't mention that he played this upstate -- no one cares about NY outside of Williamsburg. *goes to smoke a fag*

Ithaca is gorges and I'm sure Andrew Bird was great there.

"Natural Disaster" is a new favorite of mine. I was blown away when I saw him play it this past week in Ithaca and Portsmouth. January can't get here soon enough.

He played some of these songs at All Points West this summer. Amazing there too!
