Beck Brings Letterman Modern Guilt

thumbnail icon: Beck Brings Letterman Modern Guilt

"Gamma Ray" to be specific. There was no MGMT or fatherly strings, just his usual live backing band and the darkly upbeat Modern Guilt standout. Beck looks like he's having a good time up there (note smile in the screen grab), or at least more animated than he was in the video for the track. Letterman seems to dig it, though surprisingly he doesn't make it over to hold guitarist Jessica Dobson's hand. Must be too preoccupied with the election.

For a change of pace, watch the video with the sound down while listening to this:

Beck - "Gamma Ray {Pocket Mix}" (MP3)

The details.

Beck this year did great, he has come back and shown that he can still be on top, Wish him the best.

Well aren't you just sunshine and lollipops. What comeback are you talking about? Dude's been putting out a string of awesome records for over a decade.

Jeffrey hated The Information, I'm guessing.

But I thought he was a "clear," and so couldn't make mistakes?

uh that makes no sense at all - he still has the same little kid face he had 15 years ago. just like how everyone here was commenting on his long hair. he had long hair when his first record came out, people!

Matt, that would be Jessica Dobson. I've crushed on her big time since seeing Beck at Bumbershoot last month.

Modern Guilt is his best album since Sea Change. I really like the black wizard look, just wish he'd be into some satanism or hippie voodoo shit..

Ha! He did sing the wrong part, funny. I agree, anyone who calls this Becks comeback album ought to be punched in the back of the head.

I really like Jessica Dobson's band Deep Sea Diver. I'd like to see a release from them soon.

P.S. I saw Beck on this tour and it kinda sucked. I thought he played too much Guero and The Information songs, and not enough Modern Guilt (or New Pollution!!!).
