Beyoncé & Sugarland Perform "Irreplaceable" @ AMAs

If you tuned into the Jimmy Kimmel-hosted American Music Awards, on top of that of Montreal T-Mobile spot and a wiseass JT-via-satellite, you might have caught Georgia country crew Sugarland and Beyoncé fiddling through a bluegrassy "Irreplaceable." Sugarland's been doing the cover in concert for at least six months, but never with Beyoncé. Which explains why Sugarland vocalist Jennifer Nettles was so pumped about the whole thing: "We were face to face, and there were a couple times when she was looking at me and I was blushing because I thought I was going to turn to stone in her beauty." Maybe Nettles didn't turn into stone, but judging from her moves she's either part chicken or related to Mick Jagger.

Wonder if Beyoncé's ever seen a mandolin before. Actually, she gets the modified rhythm down really well. Of course, we're not surprised -- Beyoncé's as groovealicious as she is bootylicious -- but that collab would never work the other way around. Someone should send a link to Sasha Frere-Jones.

Bone Thugs won? Is this 1998?

Sugarland is as bad as it fucking gets in terms of popular music. Worse than Rascal Flatts. Someone should outlaw such putrid vocalists for fear of a repeat of the Mary Hart-seizure incident of yore.

You wouldn't know what a good vocalist sounded like if it hit you in the face (which is clearly what you need if you think their performances were putrid).
