Bob Nastanovich Hosts Pavement's Date With IKEA
This past winter we gave the low-down on Matador's $500 Brighten The Corners IKEA shopping spree, which was launched as a tie-in to the Brighten the Corners: Nicene Credence Ed. Folks who entered were asked to submit a photo and short essay explaining why they should be the ones be awarded the dough. We joked that you should be stoked even if it's Bob Nastanovich you end up eating Swedish with ... and, you know, it is Bob who ends up passing the winner meatballs on a stick. He's a gracious and funny host, but he does about 95% of the talking in the video of the outing, so we don't learn too much about Jenny Bergen, except that she lives with a 74-year old and remains focused on getting a new non-airbed bed. Her place looks grim, so we can also say she deserved the prize. Congrats:
Brighten the Corners: Nicene Credence Ed. is out now via Matador. The deluxe accordion gatefold 4xLP's out 6/23, also via Matador. It contains eight songs (B-sides, unreleased tracks) not on the CD version. Including "Agony Of The Star."

I love Pavement and I love IKEA.
This did look just a tiny bit awkward...Nastanovich is great.

Bob's really the only one I think would be fun to hang out with.

if the "Slow Century" documentary is any indication, Bob is definitely the member of Pavement you would most want to get shitfaced and watch sports with.

"what's great is that we don't have to live with this girl, we're just taking her shopping for one day" haha oh Bob

All I'm getting from IKEA is stuff that's failing the one essential screw and is falling apart one year after.
