Brian Williams Plugs Deer Tick, iTunes

thumbnail icon: Brian Williams Plugs Deer Tick, iTunes

We already knew his iPod included Interpol, Feist, and Cat Power and that he hung out with Nano's favorite daughter on SNL. Well, NBC's prime time anchor Brian Williams continues intermingling Apple products with indie rock for this interview/iTunes plug with Deer Tick. It's the inaugural edition of his new MSNBC.com series called -- wait, wait -- BriTunes. The word "iTunes" is said more times than Deer Tick.

Deer Tick - "Smith Hill" (MP3)

The BriTunes logo apparently predates the invention of iTunes. Unless Wiliams knew about iTunes in the '80s.

nice, I think......Have not heard anything from the new album yet so I'm hoping it's more City of Sin and These Old Shoes quality.

as much of a square as brian williams comes off as initially (like why is he plugging itunes so many times), he somehow comes off as indie literate, even if he might only be pretending

Wow, I had no idea Deer Tick were getting so (relatively) big. For anyone who's interested in a couple more great Providence bands/artists, check out Golden Ghost and Viking Moses.
