Brian Wilson & Zooey Deschanel Have A Chat
It's another one of those MySpace Artist On Artist things, and better than the last we saw, although it's got more of a "tell me a story, grandpa" sorta vibe. The two cover important topics like the Hollywood Bowl (where Brian recently performed three nights in support of That Lucky Old Sun) and Phil Spector, and each beat in their conversation is given a very helpful subtitle in case you have issues framing conversations (that still comes from when they're talking about harmony, fyi). We learn what She & Him tracks Brian Wilson enjoys most, that he finds himself always sounding beautiful in the studio, and that the man never lets a pretty girl escape his presence without letting her know how she looks.
"I hope we can talk again some time." Sly dog.

Pretty good interview (and Zooey's track on the new Jenny Lewis record is amazing).

She annoys the crap out of me, but at least the interview went way better than http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/feature/145269-interview-brian-wilson :/

That's one of those interviews where you wonder why they even bothered publishing it. I guess just having talked to Brian Wilson is reason enough, but jeez.

God I love Brian (his new album not so much although Midnight Is Another Day is a BW Classic). And Zooey is as beautiful to look at as she is to listen to. Thanks for posting this!

Ian you are sooo right...i read that interview a few days ago and it was purdy ruff. Seems brian wasnt in a talkin' kinda mood.

I finally saw The Happening the other night. Zooey made it almost bearable.

at 1:16 when he randomly bursts out laughing....Brian's got the 'crazy' back.

That really is an exceptionally good Brian Wilson interview, nice... zooey makes a clever move in not opening up with sucking up to him, and asking him about SMiLE secrets etc. because it seems like that kinda puts him off. Just a natural interview.

I can't get the video to work right now, but boy I'd love to hear Zooey sing "Don't Talk" or maybe "God Only Knows."
