Broadway Vs. E. 4th St.: Mo Rocca Meets Indie Rockers

Much missed Mr. Rocca's got himself a Broadway musical these days, so it makes perfect sense for him to talk show tunes with the hip kids at Other Music. Thankfully, the hipsters live up to their end of the premise, give or take an unexpected instance or two of Nazi love.

Musicals SUCK!

Maybe with the lone exception of "Team America: World Police."

"Everyone Has AIDS" may well be the modern day "Do-Re-Mi."

i really hope this doesn't mean he'll be too busy to comment on 80's toys and one-hit-wonders on VH1. that would be awful.

Yeah, if I lived in New York I'd totally go to Other Music and buy that Holy Fuck album, good stuff right there.

It should have been funny, all the punch lines were just cuts after they said "uhhm"

Mo Rocca is still pretty funny when he's on NPR's "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me." I will agree with Dave. While parts were funny, it seemed like it was missing out on a lot of ripe material.

To the musical haters, hate to break it to you, but if you like Queen, you like show tunes.

"Skimbleshanks" (sp?) is worthy of becoming an indie-centric adjective, or the name of a new strain of noise rock. And I could've sworn that that guy at 1:10 (aprox.) was Jason McGerr.

Skimbleshanks is Pete Doherty's new side project. It's nice to know that no matter how stuck up you are you can still be an uncultured mouth-breather.

Quit Your Day Job: Ungdomskulen

The Bergen trio Ungdomskulen play proggy post punk, mixing chops and hooks with a sense of humor. But they don't sound like Primus. When I was in Norway a couple years ago, "Ungdomskulen" seemed to be on everybody's lips (or...

Premature Evaluation: Beck - Modern Guilt
