Chris Cornell Brings "Long Gone" To Leno

thumbnail icon: Chris Cornell Brings "Long Gone" To Leno

We all had a good time streaming the new sadness that is Chris Cornell's (Feat. Timbaland) track "Long Gone," so why not do it again this morning in video form. Cornell's nosedive crashed him into The Tonight Show studios on Friday. In doing it without Timbo, the cut has a little less of those instantly-dated FM friendly sonic squiggles, which in turn spotlights Chris's transformation into his apparent dream of being a dulled adult alternative radio icon. I think the only way we can do it is Jay-Z style, and send some lyrics back over. Here's one: Sometimes my confessions are hard for me, I'll tell you now I'm setting you free. (Ugh. No way to cut the cheese on that one.) See also: It's a black hole, son.

Shit sandwich.

Johngp

Oh my God, Chris Cornell's face. Is he trying to turn himself into a black man or something? If so, then he's failing. Tragically.

I like this song, I think his voice sounds great. I'm not into Timbaland at all, but so far I think the new songs I've heard showcase Cornell's voice well, and that's always been the main draw for me with him.

I feel the tomatoes hitting me in the head already...

I totally agree with Liz... the man's voice is amazing and any chance to hear him sing is a pleasure for me. Granted Timbaland was a bit of a shocker to most people but i like it and for one will be supporting him all the way!

Indeed, Chris'z voice IS sounding fabulous once again, guess he revamp'd his harsh'd vocal chordz. Yet it'z a cryin' shame that his fab. voice is now being drown'd out by Doggie Doo!

Chris Cornell is a hell of a Artist. He is not afraid to try new artististic goals,in which he- can, because he is so talented,The people that do not like his new stuff. are narrow minded listeners, who need to stick to their Stand and Nickleback records, because Chris Cornell is much to creative for their taste.I admit,it took a few listens to Long Gone.It is a great song .It took guts for him to do the album, and I am looking foward for the results. Thanks Cris ,and keep on making music.
