Chris Martin Teases "Violet Hill" Vid With A New Look, But We Don't Know Him From Adam

Yes, the new Coldplay album so far is not sucking. Congrats everybody! But the videos will continue to take themselves seriously. In this preview clip for the "Violet Hill" video, Chris Martin and The Other Guys don their dusty and rugged sorta-military-jacket-things in a classic looking courtyard and proceed to not look at each other because that is a very dramatic thing to do:

Nice armbands, Chris. We've coined a term for your new style with some simple sartorial arithmetic.

The Coldplay

+ The Adam Ant

= The COLDPLANT. Yay everybody we did it.. (Nice compare, Goldenfiddle.)

Yeah, you know, we were just hanging out at a 17th century château, saw some instruments and costumes and said, 'Hey, fellow members of Coldplay, look, we're stuck here at this 17th century château anyway (presumably while their management was counting the first day downloads of this song), feel like jamming?"

And so it happened.

We are just lucky there happened to be a camera there to record it!

Why won't they do a Salute Your Shorts themed video? That'd be awesome to have Kevin "Ug" Lee, Budnick and Donkylips in there.

Quit Your Day Job: Ungdomskulen

Premature Evaluation: Beck - Modern Guilt
