Crosby, Stills, Nash & Colbert

thumbnail icon: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Colbert

Fresh off of SummerStage sans Young, David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash showed up to The Colbert Report. Stephen had a special chair made for the occasion. He also graciously let the guys know "I forgive all of you for losing the Vietnam War," before asking about the current state of protest songs (turns out they're sung at a pitch only dogs can hear). As you might have guessed via that screen grab, he ultimately donned Neil's hat and harmonies, joining the guys in a rendition of "Teach Your Children."

You can catch the old hippies live, sans Stephen, at a number of stops this summer. The dates are here.

I think you missed the joke about the high pitch protest songs.

No, I got it. I was hoping not to spoil the entire punchline before you watched it. I'm tricky like that. (Note: SC doesn't actually think we lost the Vietnam war because of CSN.)

That Rick Rubin news is very pleasing. Leave it to Rick. I hope they LISTEN to him and trust his instincts.

David Crosby is about as "rad" as older gentlemen get.

Crosby is as lucky as older men get. I'll give him that.

I saw CSN in Charlottesville on July 31st. They must have recorded Colbert when they were younger.
