Feist Counts To Four On Sesame Street

thumbnail icon: Feist Counts To Four On Sesame Street

It was only a matter of time before Feist brought "1 2 3 4" to Sesame Street and gave the Count a run for his money. So it goes: The Canadian indie iPod-er will appear on the 39th season premiere of Sesame Street (8/11) with a new take on the old track. I don't mean to be a Grouch, but maybe more impressive than teaching monsters, penguins, and chickens to count to four would be teaching them to count the number of times she's performed the fucking song. Regardless, Videogum has the leaked clip. (Yes, people leak Sesame clips.) Q: Why does the red monster in the back look anguished? A: He's sick of "1 2 3 4," too.

Normally I'd go along with the snarkiness, but in this case I'll make an exception. It's about time kids had something decent to sing along to.

Yeah, where is The Count on this one? That would be a duet worth blogging about…

The red monster is probably anguished because he just found out that Feist is a tranny.

Telly Monster has had a long hard struggle with anxiety and depression. Muppet sadness is a serious affliction that affects not only the sufferer, but the rest of the Muppet family. If there were a notable, named Muppet doctor, he should be consulted.

I'm confused, I thought Fist had covered an original Sesame Street song...? Actually, sounds more like something that would end up on a Barney lp.

Ah well - her one, two, three minutes of fame are just about up anyhow.

This vid made me smile big...great stuff. too bad some of you a-holes are too jaded to enjoy. big lost opportunity to have The Count in there...agreed....that would've been fun at the end.

That was cute. A little painful, but mostly very cute. Does anyone remember R.E.M. doing Furry Happy Monsters on Sesame Street a while back? It's the happiest I've ever seen Michael Stipe:

Dodge, Sarah, Luis, et al: I'm with all of you. This is too cute and too cool to get jaded about. Maybe it's the dad in me coming through. Doesn't matter, cause this was sweet.

"cute" or "sweet" as this may be, I will never ever like Feist. I am so tired of all these "random indie artists" getting so much attention for such boring tunes. sorry. I wouldn't want my child to have everything dumbed-down for them, musically...

I know that living on Seseme Street has gotten a lot cleaner and safer over the years but gentrification has killed the soul somehow. There's so many cops crawling around here I can't even find an "O" to buy.
-youtube "Kermit visulal thinking" and realise that Jim Henson was a genius and is obviously not involved with the show anymore.

Thanks for taking time to do something nice for the kids Leslie. I doubt the people here talking trash have ever bothered getting off their cynical hipster behinds to make half this much effort for a good cause.

would '1, 2, 3, 4 soldiers back from the war" have been inappropriate? kids are growing up fast these days... just sayin. in all seriousness though, def a cute video and catchy. would have made my pre-preschool day.

Hipsters have hearts of stone.
