Fleet Foxes And The Dodos Play A Shadowy La Blogothèque Soirée

thumbnail icon: Fleet Foxes And The Dodos Play A Shadowy La Blogothèque Soirée

La La Blogothèque threw a party at the end of May and invited Fleet Foxes, the Dodos, Vandaveer, Essie Jaine, and Noah And The Whale to play. As that FF still suggests, it was a dark night, offering sharp contrast to the Foxes light-as-air melodies and the Dodos buoyant harmonies and "The Fools"'s stick work. That said, some non-Foxes join-in on "White Winter Hymnal" and kinda fuck-up the crystalline harmonies, but that sort of things happens at parties, right? (Note: It's different when the non-FF's are Wilco or two Swedish girls.)

Fleet Foxes - "White Winter Hymnal"

The Dodos - "The Fools"

(both via P4K)

You can go deeper into sets by FF and the Dodos plus the other party bands via various streams at La Blogothèque.

Dodos look like they put on a cool live show. I had a chance to see them at Siren, but didnt catch their set. Now I think that might have been a mistake

That girl behind J.Tillman who thought it would be a fucking great idea to join in should be hunted down and shot. How irritating for them.

when you catch their show, you won't be disappointed. they're pretty nuts live; so energetic.

I think it is rather disrespectful and unintelligent to refer to First Aid Kit as "two swedish girls", do a little research, please. But I guess Stereogum wouldn't mind if we referred to it as "some random website"

Fleet Foxes deserve the hype. They're incredible.

They are "two Swedish girls." Stereogum is also a "music website."

I liked when a Dodo fell off his chair at Pitchfork because he was so into it.

The dodo vid is so sublime. Paris at night is so surreal. What a combo.

Is it under a different name or what?

Mike
