Flight Of The Conchords Show Off Their Gadgets, Get Down To "Business Time" At CES 2008

You can tell the communication tech geeks sitting through Comcast's presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show don't quite know what to make of Jemaine and Brett as they stroll out with the guitars and LES-via-New Zealand shtick. (Mostly by their scarce laughter out front.) Well it's a tough room for hipster music comedy, especially when you take awhile getting to the music comedy bit. But Brett uses it as an opportunity to show off his patented camera-phone, which you've seen in the best FOTC episode yet (i.e. "Mugged," the one with the "Psycho Killer" reference and this), and which has some new features. "Business Time" goes a little better. Take it away, Brett, Jemaine, and Jemaine's strike beard:

Remember, the Conchords have a full-length out early this year on Sub Pop. This may just be on it. For your high def camera-tootbrush-phone-TV-MP3-player phone:

Flight Of The Conchords - "Business Time" (MP3)

Enjoy.

real glad to see people recognizing that Mugging is by far the best FOTC episode. I was disheartened to see peoples comments on youtube about how good the later episodes were, because really those episodes were shite.

@Stump
when Jemaine and Brett first meet the muggers, the one with whom Jemaine eventually ends up in jail introduces his buddy by saying, "He's a psycho killer. Qu'est-ce que c'est?" not quite david bowie singing to you in your dreams, but i'll take it.

Oooooooh. They bombed. They still get their check I suppose, so I guess they don't mind.

My favorite episode was the finale. come on, Who wasn't doing "the Doggy Bounce" for weeks. plus, Todd Barry and Dimitri Martin are 2 of the best comedians today and to see them go head to head with the Conchords is hillarious. "What do you play, the leather Jacket?"

I have to admit that, while I find the show itself very funny, the stuff I decidedly like the least is the novelty songs. The beauty of DVD is that I can skip right past them...I know that such a thing is like saying, 'I like MASH except for all that stuff about doctors during the Korean War', but it's a fact. The rest of it...very funny. I would add, as well, though that I saw part of 'Eagle vs. Shark', starring Jemaine, this week, and loathed it. I'm not sure if he only has the one shtick, but it works a lot better in the show than in that movie. Just sayin'.

Charlie Kane, I totally agree with you about the novelty songs and show in the general.

I don't think they bombed at all, that's what their act is like.
