Fucked Up On Fox News

thumbnail icon: Fucked Up On Fox News

Fucked Up are quickly becoming the most popular "fuck" band, at least of the current crop of "fuck" bands: Fuck Buttons, the Fucking Wrath, Holy Fuck!, Total Fucking Destruction, Starfucker, Jackie-O Motherfucker, Fuck The Facts, the Fucking Champs (do they count as "current"?), etc. Why? The Chemistry of Common Life is a really good album -- one of '08s best -- but the Torontonians have also embraced the old-fashioned publicity stunt and/or album tie-in. Can't blame them, life is rough in the lightbulb factory, especially in this economy. As far as crossover, take a look at Pink Eyes/Damian Abraham's recent appearance on Fox News' Red Eye (where Stephen Malkmus visited last year). Greg Gutfeld loves the band (and their antics). In fact, he says of Abraham, "If musical genius were a satellite dish, I'd screw him on my roof."

Speaking of Fox News and fuck words, FN's also freaking the fuck out over Britney Spears' "If You Seek Amy." Fuckers.

We're sure this isn't, like, a parallel universe version of Fox News? Still terrible, but only in the sense it annoys the hell out of me.

That forehead scar is horrific. It looks like a skanky labia.

Easily the best segment in the history of the Fox News Channel. And that dude is so fired for saying "fuck" over and over.

I really don't understand this program. It seems so anti-Fox News. I mean, like you pointed out, this is a station that flipped the fuck out during the day over Britney Spearsjust spelling the word out......and then they have Fucked Up on at night?

You could say the main idea was "No one that actually watches Fox News is up at this hour", but then I'm guessing no one who listens to Fucked Up ever asks the question "So what's on Fox News?" in a serious, non-let's-turn-it-on-to-mock-it way. So whose the audience here?

Long answer - people who understand, and have embraced, the worst aspects of American conservatism (e.g. young conservatives who are moderately educated and not Christians). Short answer - people who enjoy reading Maxim magazine.

It's never unusual to hear the terms "fucked up" and "fox news" used next to each other.

Kinda hard to like a show with a backdrop similar to Jerry Springer's...

Red Eye is far and away the best talk show on TV.

Red Eye is the most hilarious show on tv. And, as opposed to other extremely funny, liberally-dominated comedy news shows (i.e. the daily show and the colbert report), red eye's permenant staff includes greg gutfeld, a conseravative, bill schulz, a liberal, and andy levy, a libertarian. it's brilliant.

If you would just look at the show without their preconceptions of what Fox News is or what conservatives are, you'd see that Red Eye is a genius program. The people who enjoy it are the same people who enjoy South Park.
