Get Ready For Vampire Weekend's "Oxford Comma" Video

thumbnail icon: Get Ready For Vampire Weekend's "Oxford Comma" Video

Who gives a fuck about it? Maybe not you. But of course you'll wind up in a comment argument about how Vampire Weekend's not worth arguing about. The Ivy League pop kids continue to blow up, just as MTV continues to hold them in their warm and tender zeitgeist grab embrace. The video for "Oxford Comma" will premiere tonight on the new, fueled by Wentz MTV show, FNMTV. VW got director/comedian Richard Ayoade to help pull together the single-shot clip, which we're told "draw(s) inspiration from some of the members' favorite films" and boasts "plenty of Ezra" (hello, ladies). This teaser clip features a glimpse at some scenes from the vid, along with Koenig quotes on the band's future ("we're not gonna be scared to make music that is weird or unusual or not immediately accessible") and too much of Tim Kash's halting accent.

Chris grew a beard! Looking good, buddy. Again, the clip premieres tonight on FNMTV. Which I'm pretty sure means Pete Wentz will introduce it. Which I'm pretty sure means VW's finally made it. Congrats guys.

Its weird how the internet works. It tries its hardest to make something popular, but then when it becomes popular in the real world, the internet starts to hate it.

FNMTV is supossed to bring music back to MTV, but they don't even play the whole video. Also, in about a three hour or so time span, they play 5 different videos over and over again.

Christopher looks awesome with his beard.

And I emailed Chris about his cardigan obsession. He's a friendly guy.

Ezra Koenig? What a Jew bastard.

And since the Homme afterlash has left many of you babies soft and emotional, I guess I should add that I'm a Jew and allowed to call people Jews.

bah....who can honestly say they've listened to this band in the past 5 months?

apparently there's more to music than being catchy.

um, yeah, its true I don't give a fuck, but I'm posting about it on the internet anyways. I'm ready for this video, which means, I plan on not watching it and don't give a flying crap about them. their music is, um, I'd say 'bland', but I need a word that implies something worse than just 'bland'...

maybe they should just go with wes anderson himself next time. not to bash the director of course. i actually think wes anderson would be perfect for these guys, right?

Don't care about the band or the video, but Richard Ayoade is not a comedian. In Nathan Barley, The IT Crowd and Time Trumpet he stuck out as the least funny person on the show. His "acting" in Nathan Barley was particularly bad
