Giddy About Geddy
One Geddy Lee sighting is an anomaly, two is a coincidence, but three –- that’s a trend. The Rush frontman has been a little bit of everywhere these days, taking his daughter to the set of Gilmore Girls (where Sebastian Bach introduced him to ... Sally Struthers?), and lending his trademark wail to an ESPN Fantasy Baseball prog-rock opus (watch the Iron Diamond's promo here.) And, to top it off, "Tom Sawyer" is getting the three-piano salute on the upcoming Bad Plus album. Is it a one-man guerrilla marketing campaign for Snakes & Arrows, or is he angling for a cameo on CSI? Wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy.

Geddy has been a hero of mine since I was in high school in the 80's. I love the fact that he also seems to be a really good guy besides being a bass icon.

Whatever any of us might think about Rush musically, they do all seem like some pretty good-natured guys. Although, they ARE Canadian, so maybe it shouldn't be a surprise.

The Stereogum readership is remiss in letting two comments pass without referring to "silver" as our "fact-checkin' cuz." Shame on everyone.

Rush rules.
Much as I love this new indie stuff, only two or three out of ALL of them will have careers after ten years, let alone 30+.
And Rush is attempting to make new music rather than just milking fans with endless oldies tours and greatest hits compilations.
I have spoken.
Yay!

I'm glad to know that there's some Rush love out here. I've seen 'em twice in concert and they brought it on each time. I'm eagerly awaiting Snakes and Ladders.

...I meant Snakes and Arrows.

The drummer for my band in high school would try and work Peart-styled solos into every song we played -- and we were a power pop band. He also tried to amass enough equipment to have a 360˚ drum set. You should have seen how many wood blocks and cowbells he'd have to avoid to do a drum fill. Priceless.
