Iggy Pop & The BPA Bring "He's Frank" To Letterman, Fallon

thumbnail icon: Iggy Pop & The BPA Bring "He's Frank" To Letterman, Fallon

When not recording French Pop albums Iggy Pop spends his time performing the BPA's (aka Brighton Port Authority, aka Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim and various guests) version of the Monochrome Set's "He's Frank" on various late night programs. You already saw an Iggy puppet do the same thing, yes, but the real life Stooge is a little livelier and gets the Roots (and, well, Paul Shaffer) as part of his backing band. In both cases, Pop chews the scenery, making his way into the audience, who in turn eat it up. Only one version involves an Iggy-assisted tuba solo.

I Think We're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat is out via Southern Fried.

that Letterman version totally pales in comparison to the Fallon one.

?uestlove and the Roots = greatest backing band ever.

It's a sousaphone, not a tuba.

True, but his the name "Tuba Gooding Jr." is misleading.

Hmmm. Norman back on bass? Let's hope this means a Housemartins reunion is not far off.
