Inside Henry Rollins's Freezer

Ah, love Henry Rollins. Yeah, we love the big galloot despite his bad poetry and sun tattoo, but now via this homemade video discovered through b3ta's newsletter, we also get to check out this bad "Vanilla Ice" haircut, tempered by a pretty great homemade t-shirt -- "ass" with an arrow pointing up and "glory days" scrawled with the Black Flag bars above it. The truly great, life-affirming stuff happens, though, when he heads into the kitchen to clean out his coffee mug. Any guesses what's in his freezer? Open the door and take a peek.

Wow, that's the first time Henry's surprised us in 20 years.

Those frozen rats are all for the punk rock gimp he keeps locked in his basement that ghostwrites all of Rollins' lyrics.

Frozen rats. Hey, at least it's not human limbs and such. Frozen rats. And a snake, too. Wow. I did not need to know that.

God, I was like maybe he has frozen rats and mice to feed a pet snake or something, even though i think snakes like their food to be alive, and then he pulls out a frozen snake. Maybe he is working on a cryogenics procedure.

Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...

Premature Evaluation: of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping

Skeletal Lamping is anything but skeletal. When we took a close listen to album closer "Id Engager" we mentioned it wasn't the strangest, most ambitious, or best tune on of Montreal's new one, but after absorbing the other 14 tracks,...
