Iron & Wine Covers Radiohead

No surprise that "No Surprises" is shaping up to be one of OK Computer's most covered tracks; in addition to being unbelievably gorgeous, its spare and relatively imitable Yorke melody make it a top rate candidate for homage. This past month we brought you two -- the ethereal tribute by Marissa Nadler and the reverent spin from Long Island trio Northern State -- and now you can add Sam's cover to the ever-increasing canon. And of course, Iron & Wine knows a thing or two about covers. From his his Saturday set at this past weekend's Pitchfork Music Festival.

State your fave, and take the jump for a pic from the fest fit to hang on your door. Now with more beard.

Yeah, I've never heard ANYBODY at an open mic cover that song.

I am officially sick of reading about Radiohead now.

Stereogum, I think I think we're going to have to take a little break. You know... sort our feelings out. See what else is out there. It's not me, it's you.

I just wish Radiohead would cover "Jesus the Mexican Boy."

Thanks for this. I was at the set but I was too stupid for some reason to not stay for the last song. When I heard it was a RH cover, I kicked myself later.

Quality is horrible, as is typical with shit of YouTube. And Beam doesn't seem to even know the song that well. Nadler's version is amazingly gorgeous, though.

I think even I can do a better cover, being almost a begginner in guitar playing.
A pity, because this guy can surely do it better.
