Jenny Lewis And Elvis Costello Sing For Letterman

thumbnail icon: Jenny Lewis And Elvis Costello Sing For Letterman

OK first of all stop the internet and GO VOTE. Now back to distracting you from your anxiety about the election's outcome. This here is another installment in the continuing documentation of Jenny making talk show hosts hold her blotter of Acid. Last time she made Conan do it by playing with some best friends, last night at the Ed Sullivan Theater she made Letterman do it while playing with The Best of her friends. You don't need me to tell you that Elvis's verse on "Carpetbaggers" is the highlight of this clip, or that Jenny's boyfriend is there too (he wrote the song so he's allowed), so I'll just shut up and give you the video now.

Elvis The Vote. Acid Tongue is out.

After, Elvis did a nice interview w/ Dave about his Sundance series. The musical performance actually came in the middle of this episode, which was a nice change of pace.

Very nice. I had a cold reception to the album but I have loved them whenever I've seen them live.

Yay! Unlike Pitchfork, y'all seem to be able to do your job and vote at the same time. Congratulations. Thanks for giving me something to read today.

Well, the last Wilburys-related thing from her I guess was that putrid Handle With Care cover. This cover of Apartment Song is better. Mostly because of Elvis Costello. But the new lyrics suck.

Melody-wise this kind of sounds like "Love Is a Rose" by Neil Young. Fucking love it though.

Hey, Elvis Costello sounds better live than on the album! Great performance.

It was a great performance. Jenny is even better live. Johnathan cut your hair!
I was a bit disappointed that Jenny wasn't invited to the couch, she's been on the show before, but Elvis is a STAR.
